Things didn’t turn out the way some fans had expected. They feel they didn’t get their money’s worth—in this case, 300 euros. But the organizer is defending himself against the criticism. According to him, it was clear from the start that this was an afterparty at a nightclub and not a full-fledged concert.

The exclusive afterparty featuring Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak at Amsterdam’s Jimmy Woo nightclub turned out to be a major disappointment for some of the attendees. Those who paid 300 euros for a ticket say they feel ripped off and are calling it a “farce, “disappointment,” and even“a total scam” online.

The two artists, known collectively as Silk Sonic, wrapped up their concert series at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Sunday evening with a performance at the club on Korte Leidsedwarsstraat. According to attendees, they sang five songs, but their performance was brief, and for many in the crowd, they were barely visible. Club owner Jesse Jansman, however, calls the evening a special experience and says it was clearly communicated in advance that it was a party, not a concert. “We’re a club, not a concert venue,” says Jansman, who emphasizes that Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak stayed in the lounge for hours afterward.

On social media, however, the club is facing strong backlash. Attendees describe an overcrowded, stuffy venue and say their expectations weren’t met. One complainant even reached out to Tim Hofman’s show “Boos,” hoping to draw attention to what they see as deception. Amid the fierce criticism, however, there is also a single enthusiastic response from a fan who was standing right up front and called the evening “amazing.”
